Pei Changhong
Dr. Pei Changhong is the current director of Institute of Economics of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and former director of Institute of Finance and Trade Economics of CASS during 2004-2010.
Pei got his Ph.D of Economics from University of International Business and Economics. His research focuses on China’s open economy and macroeconomic analysis. His representative works include: 60-years of China’s Foreign Trade, China’s Open Economy in Post-crisis Era. His typical essays include: Global Economy Governance, Public Goods and China’s Opening Up, Quantitative Estimation of Public Ownership’s Dominant Position and its Development Trend in China, etc.
Pei is also an active participant in public policy-making. He presented the 22nd group study held by the Sixteenth Political Bureau of the Central Committee (PBCC) and illuminated economic globalization and new characteristics of international trade for members of PBCC and government’s ministers in 2005. In recent years, Pei was involved in the drafting of Government Work Report, and took part in consulting conference of national economy policy-making.
Pei’s social positions include: member of the 12th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, member of advisory committee of Economic and Trade Policy of the Ministry of Commerce, member of the expert committee of Medical and Health System Reform of the State Council.
