Joined Daiwa Institute of Research in 1994. Oversaw the Chinese economy and stock market analysis at DIR head office, then also in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Between 2010 and 2012 worked at independent Japanese equity management business. Ranked fifth in 2010 Nikkei Veritas economist rankings.
Author of publications including "Overview of the Chinese Economy by Leading Chinese Economists" (published by Nikkei). Joined SMBC Nikko in July 2013.
