Mr Tan Kok Kiong Andrew was appointed Chief Executive Officer of National Environment Agency (NEA) on 1 January 2009. Concurrently, he is also Director of the Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC).
Mr Tan joined the Singapore Administrative Service in 1991. He has worked in the Ministry of Information and the Arts, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of The Environment and Water Resources. He was also Principal Private Secretary to Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.
Mr Tan graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in History from King's College, University of London, in 1989. He attended the Edward S Mason Programme at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where he obtained his Masters in Public Administration in 2002.
Mr Tan is a Member of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Board and the Energy Studies Institute Management Board.
